Sea to Forest Vase by Carol Forster is part of a series based around the landscapes, from coastal to rural, we enjoy in Australia.   I collect various leaves on my walks in the forest.  On taking them back to my studio I create latex moulds from them.  I am then able to press clay into the latex to create a clay replica of the individual leaves. Each green leaf is individually applied to the from.  The white porcelain section has been water etched to give the feeling of a coastal landscape. The piece is finished with high gloss glazes.  The vase will hold water for flower display.
