All within walking distance of our Art Lovers Australia Gallery in Melbourne, here are our top 5 suggestions and recommendations for art, food and cultural attractions.
Our brand new Melbourne gallery is ideally situated in an artistic and culturally rich hub of Collingwood with an abundance of local history, effortless charm and quirky character.

Artist: Keith Haring
Just 50 metres from the entrance of our Melbourne Gallery is an iconic piece of Melbourne’s artistic history. The Keith Haring Mural now makes up the pillar of Collingwood’s arts precinct named “Collingwood Yards”. This mural is the cornerstone piece of the diverse range of creatives working in the area including radio stations, contemporary art galleries, artists’ studios and performance spaces. The Minister for the Arts Heidi Victoria said that “the late, great Keith Haring gave a wonderful gift to the people of Victoria when he painted his mural at what was then the Collingwood Technical School in 1984.” Haring’s mural is one of just 31 murals he painted across the world!

Take a photo of yourself in front of the wall in the same pose as Haring’s mural figures and hashtag @artloversaustralia and we will add it to our socials!

“Easey’s is a celebration of quintessential Melbourne”. It’s the greatest mix of all the best things that make Melbourne, Melbourne. The art, the food, the old-style trains, good music and great views.
The famous Easey’s is where you can enjoy a burger and a beer five storeys above the ground in an old train that until 2014, was in service in the area. The three old style carriages were craned on top of building number 48 in Easey Street in 2014.

If you’re walking down Easey Street, you cannot miss the 30 metre mural dedicated to Jean-Michael Basquiat and Keith Haring.

Created in April 2020 for the National Gallery of Victoria’s world first Crossing Lines exhibition, this gigantic mural was commissioned by the gallery and completed by ten of Melbourne’s best artists.
The Crossing Lines exhibition fused together over 200 works by legendary NY 80’s art icons Basquiat and Haring. Their works, known for their social commentary, graffiti style and vibrant colours, used distinctive symbols, lines and signs – all quintessential elements of the street art found in Collingwood.

One of the most iconic and colourful rooftop bars in Collingwood. The vibrant atmosphere, the views, the Spanish theme, the artwork and newspaper clipping wallpaper, this place is a must see ! Take the lift up to the rooftop where they have the “Naked in the Sky” bar with their famous house made vodka and pintxos.

The Mill Brewery opened its roller door in 2016 by founder Mirek Aldridge. After 10 years of dreaming he took the plunge and opened the now famous ‘The Mill’.’ In just a few years this brewery has become a hub for locals and creatives and known for its famously-Collingwood vibe of relaxed warehouse and industrial atmosphere.
