Life on the River, Darter and Egret by Clare Riddington Jones

This serene landscape was inspired by my many trips up the Noosa River. The wading birds are always fishing in the river and it is a very peaceful experience to just sit and watch the wildlife and listen to the birds. The painting was done with many soft washes over a textured background and is a loose and expressive interpretation of life on the river. The sides have been left with the soft colour of the timber. It would have a very calming effect in any room. It can also be teamed with the other Life on the River painting on this site to form a diptych.
