Vanessa McMahon-Maver is a Melbourne based artist and designer. Creating botanical paintings that celebrate nature and the everyday. Vanessa begins with nature, overlaying colours, textures and forms to add layers and give depth to her work. Vanessa is on a mission to share her creativity and help others tap into theirs.
Inspired by nature, and interiors, Vanessa’s work celebrates the everyday. Using an eclectic mix of found objects, textures and fabrics, to bring it all together, Vanessa paints compositions that are a toast to the everyday enjoyment of life.
‘Creating has always been a way to escape, and be at peace. I find so much joy in painting, and I want to share that with everyone.’

Trudi Hipworth is an Australian abstract artist whose work is known for its softness, subtlety, and emotional depth. Inspired by nature, memory, and the small beautiful moments that often go unnoticed, her paintings explore the balance between presence and impermanence.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Trudi builds her paintings through delicate layers, scales of colour, fluid washes, and organic mark-making. Her intuitive process includes sponging, feathering, and pressing techniques that create movement, depth, and a sense of quiet stillness.
Deeply committed to the emotional and sensory experience of painting, Trudi’s work invites the viewer to slow down, breathe, and find a moment of calm. She currently works from her home studio in Langwarrin, which is home to animals and native bushland.

Sanae Mawhinney is an Australian based, Japanese abstract artist whose work is deeply rooted in the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi—an appreciation for imperfection, impermanence, and quiet simplicity. Her creative voice has been shaped by both her heritage and her experience of living abroad.
It was during her time overseas that Sanae began to explore wabi-sabi more profoundly. Away from the familiar, she found herself drawn to the subtle beauty in things that are weathered, incomplete, or quietly fading—discovering, in them, a reflection of her evolving identity and a deeper sense of emotional fulfillment.
Her art is characterised by earthy tones, quiet minimalism, and nuanced textures that invite contemplation. Influenced by traditional Japanese pottery and the aesthetics of aged surfaces, each piece holds a sense of stillness and depth.

Last night we celebrated the opening of Minimalist MAXIMALIST - an exhibition that explores the dynamic tension between restraint and abundance.
From quiet, pared-back compositions to bold, expressive statements, the works invite a reconsideration of how space, form and colour can coexist. The result is a thoughtful dialogue between simplicity and excess, where each piece brings its own sense of balance, intention and presence.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark the opening and to the artists who brought this concept to life.
