This sculptural bowl is part of a series based around the landscapes of Outback Australia.

Techniques used include wheelthrowing with a combination of fine porcelain, textured terracotta and coloured clays. The porcelain surface has been water etched and carved to reveal ghostly images of trees, forming a contrast against the textured terracotta clay. It is more a sculptural form than a bowl due to the unglazed surfaces making it unsuitable as a food container.
