Inspiration for this form has come from a restored vase form I once saw at a museum. In making this piece I have endeavored to mimic the repair and reconstruction of pieces of a vase which have been unearthed in an archeological dig.  The form has been wheelthrown and handcarved before painstaking insertion of the dark clay pieces to create the vase shape.  This has then been fired and glazed before application of the ceramic decals and a further firing.

Unearthed is an original, handbuilt, ceramic sculpture.
