“The tears of the forest are my tears, rising and falling, never the same; reflections of things that made me cry. I paint the forest yet see myself everywhere – torn limbs, sprays of rejoicing leaves, canopies riven by stars. Deeper down, life sleeps, waiting for the signals of the sun – the sun that has been acting so strangely lately. I paint the trees yet see myself reflected – the hollows and cavities, the deep stirrings – and high above, fading celebrations and fleeting trepidations.”

In ‘Tears’, I conjure a forest not as external subject but as mythic double—a dreaming, grieving terrain in which the self is scattered, reflected, and slowly reassembled. The work stands as a profound act of eco-poetic witness and introspective ritual. It is not merely an image of trees, but a forest-consciousness rendered in molten form: a chorale of color, lament, and metamorphic grace. Drawing on animist, ecological, and psycho-spiritual traditions, my work enacts a ritual of mourning and renewal—where forest and psyche entwine, and where tears become seeds of transformation.
