Additional Information

Cabbage Patch by Rosemary Legat – With intuitive style painting the artist doesn’t start with a specific idea of what they actually want to paint and there is no preconceived idea of what the artists painting may look like once completed.  In this case however, I did start with the thought that I wished to create a naive art style garden abstract.

After a few layers of intuitively applying my chosen acrylic paint colours to my canvas I created few large organic shapes.  Once those shapes were embellished, I moved on to paint out negative spaces intuitively around those shapes and on the remainder of the canvas to start to create my representational garden patch.

The ‘Cabbage Patch’ name popped into my head early on during the creation process therefore further details, painting, glazing applied to allow my mystical, colourful but moody, garden to grow.

Acrylic and a touch of sepia acrylic ink. Sides of the canvas painted black.

Signed on the front.

Ready to hang however my gallery photos include examples of how Cabbage Patch could look boxed framed.

This unique, and colourful painting, would add a pop of colour and interest to any space, not just your home.
