Moon Over the River by Olga Megele was influenced by Edvard Munch, famous for The Scream. Munch also painted the most sublime landscapes and this piece was created for an exhibition entitled Homage. Although not a direct copy of any of Munch’s work it is influenced by the colour palette and the stylised motifs particularly evident in the treatment of the moon reflected in the water. The warm underpainting shows through and the light shimmers. It’s an understated gem!
