“LOUD QUEEN III” original artwork by Carita Farrer Spencer

Acrylic on stretched canvas framed in ebony stained American Ash

Carita’s highly original artwork is attracting many collectors who are drawn to her unique use of edible colour palettes, intuitive mark making and signature illustrative twist.

“This painting forms part of my “Blue Boheme” series blending abstraction and figuration to create unexpected expressions of identity and self-acceptance.

These paintings use human figures and often elements of nature to invite the viewer in, as if they are entering a private oasis of introspection. With elements of ritual, mysticism, and nature I hope to create a rich tapestry and complexity of personal identity and self-discovery that asks viewers to look at their comfortability in themselves.

The Loud Queen emerges from the background in an unapologetic fashion, ignoring the box around her, she takes up space and claims it.

The rainbow palette symbolises the inclusive notion of the queen and the complexity and richness of feminine energy.

It felt right that she is incomplete and undefined as if still in the process of being formed. I want this work to challenge notions of beauty and embrace imperfection and impermanence”
