Headland is inspired by coastal landscapes and the idea of gazing out to where the ocean meets the sky and dreaming about all that life has to offer. This piece is part of a series of colourful abstract landscapes where Charlotte interprets forms from nature (rainbow arcs, seaside horizons, rising tides etc) in a hard-edged abstract style and continues her fascination with layering and juxtaposing rich vivid colour, experimenting with ideas of transparency and solidity to evoke a sense of joy, light and equilibrium.
