Artist Statement: Blue is a colour that carries me away from my worries and pain and takes me somewhere that is peaceful and kind. Blue is beautiful and brings me back to itself time and again.

This work is oil and acrylic on 100cm X 200cm on Fine Belgian Linen, signed on the front and sent with an artist cv and certificate of authenticity.

The work is sealed with a Conservationist Varnish. The conservationist quality varnish means that you can wipe the painting free of dust with a damp cloth which will preserve its life. Conservationist quality varnish is essential as it doesn’t crack or yellow with light and age. The work is painted on Fine Belgian Linen. Linen provides a wonderful surface for the paint and is long lasting so gives the painting posterity for many hundreds of years.

The work is sent Unstretched (this is taken into account in the price) in a roll ready for stretching and or framing. It is much safer for work to travel in a roll. The work is painted on the sides so if hung stretched without an exterior frame it will still look lovely from any angle (no ugly white sides). Personally I hang all large work in my home without an exterior frame as I feel it allows the painting to continue beyond its borders.

If you decide to add an exterior frame and they can look lovely I suggest choosing a frame that matches your furniture. ie if you have natural timber choose a timber frame, if you have a lot of black trim choose a black frame. But I wouldn’t normally recommend a black or white frame if you don’t have a lot of black in your home – normally a soft timber is going to look better.

You can get a stretching price from your local framer by giving the size of the painting. If you also want an exterior frame you might wish to go and choose the one you want
