Snow Owl Under The Moon by Rosemary Legat – Acyrlic paint and acrylic ink on stretched canvas ready to hang.

I layered white markings and details over my eclectic mixed media base before applying white paint with consideration to the gestural movement of my tree branches rather than its contours. I continued to create my branch details, along with incorporating my snow owl and moon until I was satisfied with the harmonious world that had developed before me.

The acid free painted tissue paper collage pieces I added in her early layers are hidden but still provide quirky texture and visual detail.

Up close Snow Owl Under The Moon offers a slightly rustic textured look and feel however from afar she has a softer presence, offering intriguing appeal in her contrasts.

Her unique blended layers provide visual delight for the mind and eye.

Canvas edges painted in crisp white.

Snow Owl Under The Moon finished off with a touch of fixative spray and varnish for protection.
