‘Where wandering paths meet’ is an original artwork painted in oils on linen and professionally framed in oak by Jackie Moss
This original artwork is inspired by a beautiful area of Inverloch beach I enjoy visiting on the Bass coast, Gippsland, Victoria.
The beach and sand dunes in Inverloch are often dotted with interesting, driftwood teepee sculptures. The locals love these iconic man made structures that blend in so naturally with the seascape.
There is a particular teepee which was once huge. It has diminished over past years, ravaged by the elements yet is still the largest along the beach. Â So accomodating you can climb inside it! Â Coastal Spinifex binds the sand with its horizontal runners, anchoring it from blowing away in biting winds. Â Numerous paths meander all over the dunes, most finding their way to meet at the big teepee.
It’s a beautiful place to visit at dawn or particularly dusk when the golden light ignites the fluffy heads of the seagrass and glows in the last light.
I have loved capturing that fleeting time of the evening where the colours seem far more vivid. Â The shadows lean heavily into the sand just before the sun sets during this fleeting ‘golden hour’ on the coast.
