“Fragments of Calm” is another painting from my palette knife / hands-on series, featuring a soft and soothing palette of turquoise, aqua, blues, pinks and white. With these works, I tend to use my hands, combined with palette knives, brushes and spatulas, to build layered, expressive textures across the surface.
This acrylic abstract is created on a textured base, so there is no mistaking this for being an original painting rather than a print. This artwork will never be sold as a print. The painting is finished with varnish, which interacts beautifully with the colours and textures, changing subtly depending on the position of the light throughout the day.
This painting is on a thick gallery-wrapped canvas, with paint extending over the sides, incorporating the artwork on all edges. For this reason, it can be displayed unframed if preferred. Textured. Varnish finish.
