Alison has been an artist for over 30 years and she focus on very detailed pencil and ink architectural illustrations, and depending on her inspirations on the day also paints vividly coloured acrylic on canvas with floral and tropical scenes. Living in Toowoomba Queensland she finds the environment stimulates her creativity, loving the amazing historical and decorative buildings and the fabulous flowering gardens and quaint cottages that surround her.
She enjoys both the challenge of drawing beautiful unique homes that showcase style and character, and splashing lots of colour around when painting vividly coloured flowers, trees and garden settings with multicoloured lush foliage.
Alison’s art tends to touch hearts and memories as her drawings allow viewers to wonder down the path of days gone by, and her paintings often encourage a relaxed peaceful experience as many of them depict a spring or summery theme.
Why does she create? Alison has a strong appreciation for nature, Australian history, gardens and a peaceful harmonious life. She loves to express herself through different forms of art and experiencing the pleasure that it brings others. Creating art allows Alison to practice stillness, mindfulness, peace and tranquility as she focusses closely on her surroundings – all so very important to her.
Alison has been a featured Artist on the 7.30 Report – ABC TV, and in Artview Magazine – Australia. She has held 6 Solo Exhibitions, and exhibited in multiple group exhibitions throughout Australia.
Alison offers a collection of quality Giclee reproductions prints featuring whimsical tropical and garden scenes, and hand drawn Queenslander style homes, she is always available for commissions.
