Ann Needham (Joy Collection) attempts to make an emotional connection using semi abstract forms and a distinctive colour palette. Needham says that it was her work as an art therapist that inspired her nom de plume Joy Collection, a reminder to create with the intention of uplifting others.

Ann Needham’s distinctive style could best be described as an abstract representation of feelings or emotions, made visible through her exploration of color, line, texture and the human form. Needham’s subjects range from landscapes to relationships and may morph from the familiar, into a place of pure color and complete abstraction.
Needham has a background in design and psychology. She has drawn on both these areas to shape her unique style and process. Needham says, I’m never sure where a painting will take me, and hopefully, neither is the viewer.
Ann Needham is based in Brisbane, Queensland. Neeham’s paintings are held in collections across Australia, USA, and the UK.
