Yamba, NSW
Anne’s favourite medium is oil paint, with its vibrant colour and rich texture.
Her favourite subject to paint is the sea, but she also paints landscapes, figures, animals and flowers.
“I am inspired by the natural environment, and the effect of light on water, foliage and landscape.’
Anne recently relocated to Yamba where there is plenty of coastal inspiration for her seascapes!
I will be away from my studio from 4 Feb to 7 Feb, so any orders will be posted after this date. Thank you for your patience. Anne
Artworks: 39
Born in Grafton, NSW, Anne lived for many years in Brisbane, Qld, and then recently moved to Yamba, NSW.
Anne has always loved to paint and draw and won several art awards in her school years.
Returning to art as an adult, Anne studied at TAFE, achieving a Certificate IV in Visual Art and Contemporary Craft, specialising in painting. She has continued to learn new skills, attending workshops with her favourite tutors. “One of my happy places is to take part in a workshop with fellow artists and an inspiring teacher.”
Anne has developed her skills and vision to create her own style, focusing on seascapes but also including landscapes, figures, animals and flowers.
Oil paint is her preferred medium. Anne uses both brushes and palette knife to create both impressionist loose paintings and more realistic artworks, depending on her mood and how the painting develops.
Anne’s inspiration is the natural world, aiming to evoke feelings of peace and tranquillity. “There is something about the wide horizon, the changing light and the sense of space that the coast can inspire. I try to bring all these elements into my art.”
Anne has sold widely across Australia, and also overseas and has won several art prizes and highly commended awards.
“Painting is not just a hobby; it is an important part of my life and it makes my life richer and happier to put brush to canvas. I can’t imagine my life without art.”
