Charlotte De Pace lives and works in Melbourne. Her artistic practice is driven by a desire to find and express a brighter side of life. Aware of the emotive power of colour and harmonious composition, she embraces a vibrant palette and finds inspiration in nature, distilling it to its purest forms to create abstract compositions.
Rainbow arcs are a recurring symbol throughout her work, chosen for their association with hope and peace as well as their visual versatility to create interesting and unexpected forms. Through layering and juxtaposing rich, vivid colour, Charlotte gives strength and luminosity to overlapping shapes and shadows evoking a sense of harmony, simplicity and joy.
Art and art making have always been an integral part of Charlotte’s life. Following her university studies (Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts, VCA, and Master of Art Curatorship, University of Melbourne), Charlotte enjoyed a career in exhibition management and curatorship. Over the last few years, she’s focussed on her own professional artistic practice, drawing on her passion for colour and developing a distinctive abstract style.
Charlotte is also a finalist in the 2022 Art Lovers Australia Prize
