She works abstractly to reinterpret nature’s patterns, rhythms and colours.
Artworks: 45
Dianne Smith loves being immersed in nature and draws inspiration from her coastal and bush surroundings. She is especially fascinated by the flux of sunlit patterns on water and foliage in local and hinterland streams and creeks.
Painting with oils is her preference as they can be blended easily to replicate nature’s marks and textures.
Dianne has been awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Diploma of Education and a Graduate Diploma of Art and Design.
Dianne enjoys the challenge of working overseas with other international artists and she has undertaken art residencies in Beijing, Paris, Berlin and Tuscany as well as a Nancy Fairfax residency at the Tweed Regional Gallery, NSW.
Exhibiting in many solo shows and group exhibitions, Dianne’s work is held in public and private collections throughout Australia and overseas in London, France, Berlin, Hong Kong and New York.
