Emma Waters is an energetic artist who demonstrates great transparency through her varied artistic styles. Her personality boldly reflects her artwork outcomes. She grew up in the country town, the Seafood Capital of Australia, Port Lincoln, also known for shark cage diving. Growing up along the coast has heavily influenced the way she uses nature as her muse.
Nature, in particular the ocean itself, has always been Emma’s best way to feel in tune with her mind, body, soul, and the earth around her. Restlessness pauses when she is amongst the ocean or portraying it for others. When Emma appreciates the coastlines of the Eyre Peninsula, the underwater calm when she has her snorkels on, or the clarity of the stars in the night sky, her sense of awe over takes any other sense of unrest.
Emma relives these calming moments with every stroke of her paintbrush. It’s a way for her to slow down and reflect on the tranquility she felt in the moment, or create something she wishes to feel.
However, Emma also enjoys painting when she’s in her energetic state. This results in her dramatic twist in art styles. When she paints in her street art style, she takes on the attitude of “the more colours the better.”
She loves bold outlines, cartoonism, humorous quotes, graffiti styled words, acrylic inks and splatters. This style of creating is very freeing for Emma, she feels like there are no limitations and the canvas is a chaotic yet synergised artwork.
Emma hopes her art collectors can identify what they want from the artwork. To be able to select a piece that brings the calming serenity to a room, or the energy and statement it needs.
