“When I moved to Australia ten years ago, I was struck by the beautiful wilderness of the forest and mountains in Victoria. I wanted to capture and express that dramatic and yet fragile beauty. It gave me the desire to paint again after a long break.
Gwendal spend a lot of his weekends riding his bike around Warburton where he immerse himself in the landscape, breathing it in and connecting to it. That’s where he find most of his inspiration, bringing it to his studio in Warburton or Melbourne.
Highly concerned about global warming and the loss of biodiversity, his recent works reflect his response to these concerns and how they intersect with his love of the natural world.
