With 30 years of experience as a videographer in the television industry, Harriet has cultivated a discerning eye for aesthetics and storytelling through visual media. This extensive background has fostered a deep appreciation for colour, shape and composition, allowing her to create images that resonate with beauty and emotion. Harriet loves playing around with all three of these elements to produce pieces that are both pleasing to the eye and thought provoking.
Transitioning into the world of painting, Harriet approaches art with a fresh perspective, viewing it as both a therapeutic outlet and a new frontier. While still embracing the fundamental principles of composition, she enjoys experimenting with unconventional techniques that challenge tradition norms, resulting in ‘peculiar’ components. These ‘peculiar’ components disappear within work when considered as a whole and each artwork becomes harmonious and balanced.
Despite being new to the art scene, Harriet feels a profound sense of comfort and serenity while painting, viewing each canvas as an opportunity for exploration and expression. With a passion for creating visually striking works, she hopes to inspire and evoke emotions in viewers, inviting them to experience the world through her unique lens.
