Informed by life and nature, Helena Lillywhites work often incorporates the use of broken down surfaces and planes depicting light and shade, positives and negatives.
Artworks: 12
Helena Lillywhite likes to experiment with a fusion of realistic representations and abstractions within her work. She is drawn to strength and emotions and often uses figures and her first love, horses, as inspiration.
She likes to break down and simplify forms to create aesthetically considered structures and shapes, while still keeping a sense of likeness to the subject matter. This break down lends to a rustic surface. Sometimes missing pieces are present giving presence to light and shade and positive and negative surface areas which lean towards a more abstract approach.
She has won several awards for her artwork and is represented in public and private collections both locally and interstate.
