Atherton
Kai Hagberg is a multidisciplinary artist and jeweller based in Atherton, Queensland.
Artworks: 1
Working across illustration, painting, sculpture, and goldsmithing, Hagberg approaches each medium with a figurative sensibility that seeks to capture the nuance and emotion of human subjects and the natural world.
His paintings have been recognized nationally, selected as finalists in the Kennedy Art Prize, the Stan & Mareen Duke Gold Coast Art Prize, and the Nora Heysen Centenary Art Prize for Still Life and Featured on ‘Selling Houses Australia’.
Alongside his visual art, Hagberg’s gold and silversmithing extends this exploration into wearable form. His jewellery designs, awarded in both Australia and Hong Kong, embody the same sensitivity to detail and storytelling found in his paintings and sculptures. By merging fine art with craft, Hagberg creates works that are both expressive and intimate objects that honor the interconnectedness of human experience, nature, and artistry.
