Patricia Walsh is a NSW North Coast based contemporary seascape painter. She draws inspiration from the beauty of the Byron Bay coast and hinterland, to create unique statement pieces.
‘Each painting resonates with stories of Byron, as I respond to the sounds, the windswept seas, the changing light, the energy and the freedom. It’s a breathing space that feels a world away from reality’, says Walsh.
Patricia represents land and seascapes with a particular focus on light and colour to create her atmospheric abstract impressionist paintings. A third generation oil painter, Patricia connects traditional technique with contemporary practice. Exhibiting regularly, her works are held in numerous art collections.
Walsh is a consistent finalist in major national art awards including the Glover Prize for Landscape, John Leslie Landscape Prize, Pro Hart Art Prize, Waverley 9×5 Impressionist Landscape Prize , Adelaide ParkLands Art Prize, John Villiers Art Prize, Stanthorpe Art Prize, Lethbridge Art Award and more.
