Based in Perth, I create acrylic works that celebrate still life, landscape, and the unique character of animals. My path to becoming a professional artist was anything but expected. After many years working in healthcare, my life changed direction when the arrival of our significantly disabled child required me to step back from my career and studies. Art became both a refuge and a lifeline—an essential outlet for expression, healing, and rediscovering my own identity beyond circumstance.
Painting grew from quiet therapy into a renewed sense of purpose. With the support of local galleries and community arts organisations, my work has been exhibited across Perth, including recent recognition as a finalist in the 2025 City of Stirling Art Awards. Many online sales have seen my work travel to homes across Australia and internationally.
Alain de Botton, author of ‘Art as Therapy’ wrote “Growth occurs when we discover how to remain authentically ourselves in the presence of potentially threatening things”. My art is a reminder that even in difficult times, there are fragments of beauty to be found, and new paths still waiting to unfold.
