PLAYlogo is the artist name of Darren R C Kelly, a Sydney based photographer, digital artist, and musician/composer. He specialises in uniquely colourful Light Art and Flower photography.
PLAYlogo’s Light Art photos are created using his unique motion-controlled Drancel Light Art system. Custom electronics capture gestures that control the colour proportions, which are then photographed through curious optical elements and crystals. The reflections and refractions also give rise to new colours through light synthesis, like mixing coloured paints.
PLAYlogo loves colourful flowers! Some of the best flower photos featured here are from his “Freshest Buds & Blooms” series, first day shots of pristine emerging flowers at their best. Or enjoy a spectacular Sydney Night Jacaranda or Night Grevillea shot.
And there are also some curiosities and special study shots, such as photos of fresh candles and fire, and some nice shots of spectacular Sydney.
All high resolution photos featured here were taken using the renowned Sony FE 90mm Macro G OSS prime lens, and print well at larger sizes.
Choose between quality prints (so you can select your own frame and preferred mounting), or finished works ready for hanging in the compact, super long-lasting, modern Acrylic Float Frame format (sealed behind quality acrylic and with no frame border), perfect for showing off these brightly coloured photographs.
PLAYlogo endeavours to use “straight from the camera” shots, and only uses minimal post-processing adjustments for optimal printing, and sometimes composition masks. Some items include additional digital vignetting or simple digital layering as indicated. No so-called “AI” post-processing techniques are used that could corrupt images with content not in the original scene.
Some photo-based works with substantial digital editing are made available under the separate PLAYlogo Digital Art zone.
