From the moment I climbed into my dad’s roller tray at just six months old, my creative spark was undeniable. Art has always been my first language—a constant companion throughout my life. Whether it was hours spent sketching as a child or experimenting with materials in my high school art room, the urge to create has always been instinctive and essential.
Now, as a passionate Secondary School Art Teacher, I not only inspire young minds but continue to evolve as an artist myself. Teaching allows me to explore new techniques alongside my students—pushing boundaries, embracing the unknown, and stepping beyond my comfort zone. It’s in this shared exploration that I’ve discovered the deeply therapeutic power of art—a principle I bring into both my classroom and my personal practice.
My paintings are bold, expressive, and joy-driven. Each canvas is a reflection of how I feel in the moment—using colour, rhythm, pattern, stencils, and spontaneous movement to communicate emotion and energy. I gravitate toward abstract expression on large-scale canvases, thriving in the freedom of intuitive mark-making. From paddle brushes to fondant smoothers, I love experimenting with unconventional tools to keep the process playful and unpredictable.
Beyond abstract work, I explore portraits, animals, hands, and zentangle designs—each serving a different purpose in my creative journey. Portraiture grounds me in detail and precision, zentangle offers meditative focus, and abstraction lets me dance with spontaneity.
My work has earned multiple awards at local art shows and was proudly featured on Channel 10’s Healthy Homes Australia in 2019. I’m also a published Author and Illustrator, having released my children’s picture book Philly and Billy in 2023.
I believe art should spark joy, connection, and curiosity—and I hope those who view my work feel a piece of the same passion that fuels every brushstroke. This journey is just beginning, and I look forward to continuing to explore, inspire, and create stories through both painting and picture books for years to come.
