Sharon is a talented artist originally from Cornwall, England, who draws inspiration from the beauty of nature. The name Elowen Art comes from the Cornish word “elowen,” meaning Elm tree, a fitting homage to Sharon’s deep connection to the natural world. The name reflects both her artistic journey and her return to her roots, grounding her work in the landscape she loves.
Currently residing at the base of the Blue Mountains in Sydney, NSW, Australia, Sharon continues to be inspired by the stunning surroundings. Her visual arts degree from UWS, combined with extensive experience in commissioned work, has shaped her distinctive style and approach to art.
While pen and ink is Sharon’s preferred medium, she also enjoys working with mixed media, allowing her creativity to flow freely across various forms. Her artistic process is dynamic, with each piece evolving depending on the subject matter she’s working with.
Sharon’s passion for nature often leads her to spend hours exploring local rainforests, beaches, and parks. She captures the essence of these environments through photography and quick sketches, which serve as references for her main artworks. As Sharon says, “I love being able to share what I see, as well as that reconnection to the natural world.”
