Landscape + Portrait Artist
Artworks: 6
Taya Lindner is a celebrated Australian landscape and portrait artist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, where she lives, works, and draws endless inspiration from the coastal environment she adores.
Her current series, Connection, delves into the profound relationships we form with place — those deeply personal ties woven through memory, milestones, and the energy we feel when we immerse ourselves in the landscape. Through dynamic acrylic compositions, Taya captures these emotional geographies by layering multiple perspectives, scales, and moments in time, inviting viewers to reflect on their own sense of place and belonging.
Taya paints from her sun-drenched home studio, nestled in a garden oasis and joyfully shared with her two young children, who are often found painting alongside her. A graduate of the Queensland College of Art with Academic Excellence in 2003, Taya also brings her passion for creativity into the classroom as a dedicated senior Visual Art and Media teacher, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of artists.
With more than two decades of professional practice, Taya’s artwork has been featured in esteemed national art prizes including the Portia Geach Memorial Award, Paddington Art Prize, Theiss Art Prize, and the Doug Moran Portrait Prize. Her sitters have included well-known Australian personalities such as Kate Miller-Heidke, Mia Dyson, Brian Wenzel, Michael Patterson, Kristy Apps, Clare Bowditch, and Bert Newton.
