Vicki Sullivan’s paintings draw from a deep appreciation of beauty. Sullivan Studied at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence Italy.
Sullivan is a Modern Renaissance painter, using classical realism to combine the aesthetics of the old masters with a modern edge.
Finding her inspiration in people and nature Sullivan chooses oil paint as her medium, for love of rich and opulent colour, employing many layers of paint to make her colour lavish and glowing as if from the inside.

Vicki Sullivan is an Australian contemporary realist painter whose practice bridges the timeless beauty of Renaissance traditions with a modern sensibility. Based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, she draws inspiration from the natural surroundings of the Southern Ocean.
Recognized as an Art Renewal Center (ARC) Living Master, Vicki’s work is celebrated internationally for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. Her oil paintings are held in both public and private collections in Australia and abroad, including the Collection of the Art Renewal Center and the permanent collection of the State Library of New South Wales.
Vicki has exhibited widely at prestigious venues such as the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona and Sotheby’s in New York. Her portraits and figurative works often explore the beauty and complexity of the human spirit, balancing realism with a poetic sensibility.
Trained at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Vicki’s practice reflects a dedication to craftsmanship, light, and layered narrative. Her paintings continue to resonate with audiences worldwide, offering a window into both personal and universal stories. Sullivan also enjoys painting plein air and her outdoor onsite paintings are popular and have a fresh free style which plein air imbues, due to changing weather and light.
Vicki’s work has been exhibited at the European Museum of modern Art “MEAM” museum Barcelona several times.
Several of Vicki’s paintings are headed to the Moon in Digital form as part of the Artists on the Moon Project.
Her work was selected for the ARC Salon Exhibition at Sotheby’s New York and has been selected as a finalist in many other International & National Portrait exhibitions, including the Salon de Refuse , the Lester Prize for Portraiture, the Kennedy prize for Beauty, the Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award, the Almanara prize, and the Fivka.
Vicki’s Drawing has been selected for publication in Strokes of Genius Book 10, by Northlight books in the USA.
Vicki was chosen to paint the Portrait of Graham Goldsmith, Chancellor of Swinburne University, Melbourne, for the University Collection, the portrait of Peter Dawkins, Vice chancellor of Victoria University for the University Collection, and Linda Kristjanson Vice Chancellor of Swinbourne University, Melbourne for the University Collection. Also Judge Alan Smith , Riverhead New York for the Riverhead Court New York. and Former President of the Victorian Pharmacy Guild Anthony Tassone.
Vicki Painted a Portrait of Yorta Yorta Opera Soprano Deborah Cheetham for Ryman Healthcare which is installed in the Deborah Cheetham Village in Ocean Grove.
Vicki’s work has won awards in Australia, the USA, and the UK. Her work is held in many private collections worldwide. She was also a finalist in the 2020 Art Lovers Prize.
