A Flower for my Love – Mealie Rosellas by Wilna ten Cate – My love for Australian Lorikeets and Rosellas started many years ago in South Africa. We had an extensive Australian parrot collection. The parrots were part of our daily life, and the kids, then still very small, had so much fun playing with our tame, hand-raised parrots. In this artwork, I depicted the pair of Mealie Rosellas that visit our garden daily for a snack.
It is an original tondo (50cm diameter) artwork. I used watercolours and pencils on a wooden artist’s board. This artwork is not framed but ready to hang just as it is.
