Part of my collection of my exploration with Idioms and loving wine this one is steeped in history.

Many historians believe it go back to Roman times, certainly Charlemagne. The bush refers to a bush, plant, broom, wreath that was displayed outside of estates to indicate that wine was produced here, available for sale. The idiom using this tradition and infers that if the product is good enough they speak for themselves.

So there you have it- a multi media piece which I have taken some artistic licence on.
