A Gum Tree by John Salm fine art photographer – Limited edition (26) print fine art photographic print.

I was walking in one of the Mount Tamborine national parks with my brother. I saw an opportunity to take photograph this particular tree. At the time, I knew that I was going to do something creative with it but unsure what it was going to be. It is as though my subconscious is running ahead of my conscious thoughts.
Later, I realised I wanted to highlight the branches as I have a fascination with the asymmetry of Australian branches. By inverting the colours and making it monochrome, I was able to achieve this.
A Gum Tree is part of the Trees series.

The artwork is printed on Chromaluxe premium metal for a contemporary look and feel. John feels that the medium best suits his artworks. The artwork is backed by a floating hanger system. This allows the artwork appears to float off the wall.
