A Moment at the Coast I – This is one of two paintings focusing on the movement of clouds, water, and sand at the coast. As a Sydney-sider, a lot of my landscape work is influenced and inspired by the ocean, and these two are no different. The idea is to convey the dynamic nature of that landscape using various techniques such as layering, a textured base, and lots of additions and subtracts of the paint.

This was done with a textured under-layer of gesso with a smoother application of oil on top. I have to say that my favourite part of the painting is that flaming pink in the right corner!

I hope this painting speaks to you like it does to me. It’s oil paint on triple-primed framed canvas, with a D ring in the back so it’s ready to hang. It’s ready for any home!
