“A Persistent Hope” by Sharon Rynehart

It sometimes feels like we just start to get over one of life’s battles before another comes our way. Much like the unrelenting waves that continually rise up and batter the shoreline, sadly for way too many of us, life can be like that.

I take comfort painting the coast because while the coast is often a metaphor for life, it in itself brings healing and hope. Hope in the form of the late afternoon breeze that comes to sweep away the day’s frustrations, the dusk that falls to signal an end to the day and it’s struggles, and hope by way of the persistent waves that crash, giving way to calmer waters as they meet the safety of the shoreline.

Sometimes all we can do is wait for those waves to break…because they will. Patience and a persistent hope is what keeps us moving forward, and nurtures strength within in order to face the next waves that come.

This emotive palette knife seascape capturing movement and light at dusk over the coastline, features deep sea greens and teal blues, contrasted with soft lilacs and pinks, sand and white.

Created on 12 oz stretched polycotton, it is framed in a solid Oak timber frame *(see note).

It is satin varnished and comes with a COA.

Thank you for pausing to consider “A Persistent Hope”. I trust you know this hope too.

*This frame has had a knock to the wood on the bottom LHF corner, on the underside of the frame, at the back. See pic. It is in no way structural, can’t be seen when hung, but is reflected in a slightly lower price than normal for this size artwork. Usually $970, reduced to $890. Thank you.

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space.
