This painting was inspired by Omar Khayyam’s Rubayat and influenced by the works of Giorgio Marandi’s paintings.The inspiration was from Khayyam’s use of descriptions of pots as metaphores to describe the nature of persons and their behaviour . Margaret has always liked looking at pots especially in galleries and have thought its as if certain ones have an essence that seems to create life to the object .A few years ago Margaret started painting pots ;trying in the process to use the images as netaphores for the human condition .The work of Maranda has influenced Margarets approach to how she painted. Canvas has been stretched over à frame and has been prepared with gesso. Quality oil paint has been used and à dive gel applied to seal the painting .D hooks have been applied and it is ready to hang
