‘Absence of Place’ is an atmospheric paining, with a rich textured surface. This work is an exploration of my inner feelings and perceptions, inspired by a recent trip by air to Thargomindah in Western Queensland. That day dreaming time on a flight when only you and the distant sky above and earth below merge. This vision was formed in my subconscious and reproduced back in my studios weeks later.

‘Absence of Place’ is a cold wax, mixed media painting on 300gsm Hahnemuhle 100% cotton paper. The paper has been sealed with Liquitex professional matte medium with two coats of Atelier traditional gesso primer applied before I began layering the cold wax and oil medium.

I chose to frame this work behind photographers professional glass (Ultra Vue).  The work is professionally produced using only the best quality paints and framing materials. It will not fade.
