Abundant Still Life by Emma Kelly

This artwork depicts an abundant amount of flowers in a vase with a dark background as well as a light pink background at the base.  What makes this artwork unique is the composition of the flowers as well as their shape.  There are yellow abstract flowers and blue and white flowers throughout.  All flowers are in a bright blue vase.  Green stems in the painting complement the painting and work to give the still life a unified perspective.  Emma is heavily influenced by Margaret Preston who uses block prints for her work.

This painting is a one-off, original stand-alone painting.  Overall the painting invites the onlooker to look at color and Still Life in a different way with the use of contrast colors, composition and the shapes of each flowers.

The painting is 51cm height x 50cm width.  It is on stretched canvas and unframed.
