Adaptions is one of a series of outcomes from a Residency in Kathmandu, Nepal. I spent weeks researching, speaking with scientists and professionals in the climate change arena and seeing the affects of the current climate has on the community of Patan. This work is a self-portrait which reflects on the guilt and desperation of being just one person. 2019.

Synopsis

I want to consume less. I want to eat vegan. I want to recycle, upcycle, reduce waste. I want to only buy second hand. I want to be better. It is so hard. So very hard. I am constantly conflicted. I am constantly fighting myself. Feeling guilty. Trying harder. Failing. I want to do everything I can to tackle climate change. I’m trying, through conflict and guilt, I’m trying.
