‘After the Rain’,  painted by Tillian 26 May 2025

In After the Rain, I conjure a vision of the forest renewed—an abstracted, ecstatic landscape that pulses with post-rain vitality. Swirls of cloud, verdant leaf forms, and crimson earthen shapes rise in dialogue, evoking nature’s emotional and mythic consciousness. Gestural brushwork and layered colour planes create a sense of vegetal movement and atmospheric memory, suggesting that the landscape is not merely observed but felt—a psychic and spiritual terrain. Echoes of myth—rain as divine weeping, forest as world-body—imbue the work with archetypal resonance.

Rather than depict a scene, I perform a ritual of renewal, aligning personal emotion with ecological rhythm. Here, the forest breathes, remembers, and becomes.

Satin varnished with isolation coat. Edges sealed with black lacquer.

Signed lower left. Description label verso. Shipped with certificate of authenticity.
