“Afterburn” captures a hillside in the aftermath of a scrub fire. The landscape, once dense with verdant brush, now reveals a stark tableau of charred earth. The painting is awash with muted hues of gray, black,brown and blue, evoking the smoldering remains of the fire. The sky above is filled with remnant smoke creating a poignant reflection on destruction and regeneration typical of the Australian bush.

This painting is unframed but all edges have been painted to establish a seamless aesthetic suitable for immediate hanging.
