Here I am trying to convey a atmosphere of calm, a slightly quite feel. This is a deep water drop off, at Arlington reef, a close inner reef off the North Queensland coast line near Cairns. This reef has an endless wall, where the deep water hits the reef from the south side of the system. There is a very long wall that’s much like an under water cliff teaming with marine life and great beauty, this is another favorite spot of mine.

This painting represents the results of mixing media, with chemistry between pigments creating dynamic compositions as they attract and repel, resulting in formations I manipulate to be of ocean, shore line, rocks, and or reef like impressions.

I pour my scenes into place, and manipulate them further into the impressions of Coral Reefs,and Channels. Before being sealed, a single painting could have had multiple layers of work on it, ranging from the original pour, to sanding back looking for patterns under dried paint, rubbing in ink or more paint to stain or add colour, and in general working on and enhancing areas where possible.
These Formations are then preserved by a coating of a premium quality finish (resin, satin or matte Varnish) on a ready-to-hang, multi-directional board.
