Additional Information

Afternoon Storm 1 Dorrigo by Kathryn Fenton – Expressionist big sky landscape. The mountains of Dorrigo NSW has been a favourite plein air location for Kathryn for years now.

There is so much drama in the sky on any given day due to the dairy town’s altitude and proximity to the Great Dividing Range creating four seasons in one day.

The deep shades of layered mountains and the velvet green undulating mounds of pastureland contrast beautifully when dramatic light from moody skies rolls across

this majestic landscape.

Kathryn loves to paint with gouache as if it was watercolour, and being also an opaque medium allows a good surface to use other mark making materials such as pastel, ink

and charcoal to give this luscious landscape a loose evolving feel as is the nature of the changing environment.

This work is one of a pair professionally framed with a white matt and high quality white timber frame ready to be hung.
