Aged Earth Vessels is a piece that continues my fascination with objects worn by time. In this painting, a collection of four unique vessels, focusing on the beautiful contrast between opulence and decay. I built the composition around a rich base of siennas and turquoise blues, then introduced luxurious gold accents on the lids to elevate the forms. My goal was to create a relic-like quality, which I achieved through a deliberate distressed finish. To me, these are more than just pots; they are silent storytellers, and I feel this piece captures the quiet elegance and profound history of the “aged earth.” It’s a painting designed to introduce a touch of ancient charm and sophisticated texture into any collector’s space.
