Almond Grove, Afternoon Light is part of a series of landscapes inspired from my residency in Provence recently.

It was easy to be swept up in the romance of these hallowed grounds that Impressionists such as Van Gogh, Cezanne and Gauguin

once walked. The soft golden light, the iconic wildflower fields and orchards are virtually unchanged since the mid 1800’s.

This large work is painted in a loose breezy style in a limited pastel palette reflecting the nature of the landscape near

the majestic Les Alpilles Mountains, St Remy.

This painting on canvas comes rolled ready to be stretched, and if later desired it can be framed.
