‘Antique Garden’ by Meg Shaw – exclusive to Art Lovers Australia.

This fluid art piece is an impression of flowers. It is inspired by English country gardens in the spring and summertime, but with a delicate, antique look.

It is a hand worked, original, alcohol ink on yupo paper. There are no digital applications or brushes used to create this artwork. The colours are subdued reds, pinks, blues, yellows and purples.

My ink techniques is to use the natural movement of the medium as it mixes with alcohol, or by blowing puffs of air onto the ink, or by tilting the paper, allowing the ink to run in the direction I want.

Alcohol ink is a difficult medium to work with and takes a lot of practice to perfect. Perfect may not be the right word, as I feel the end results are a mix of skill and happy accidents.

‘Antique Garden’ is unframed and framing behind glass is recommended.
