Neo Pop Painting

This original Mixed Media Artwork was created first by layering paint to build up the Abstract background effect.

Then Iconic animation character Astro Boy was then painted over the top, with the colour palette inspired by street art.

This artwork continues my experimentation with using different techniques to apply the paint Sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, paint pens, spray packs, stencils, pencils & brushes.

The artwork is a Neo Pop statement piece and will give maximum impact to any room.

My art is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces & is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work was created to fit into a chunky Vintage Frame and is ready to hang.
