“At the End of the Rainbow” by Sharon Rynehart

Growing up I was always taught that rainbows were God’s promise that he’d never again send rains to flood the whole earth like he did when Noah had to build the Ark and take shelter with 2 of every animal. A rainbow was a sign of a promise made. Over time it’s been adapted for kids stories with a pot of gold at the end, sung about by Judy Garland, become a place where magical fairies or unicorns live, and now recently is portrayed on flags for the LGBTQI.

Regardless of what you believe, there’s one thing in common with all…it’s a sign of Hope. And of something better.

Rainbows over the coastline, or just after rain on lush green valleys, fill me with such hope – a usually well timed reminder to keep persevering, to keep choosing light over dark…to keep hoping. Rainbows tend to appear as the rain is easing, in itself a reminder that while storms and rains and grey clouds may fill the sky for a little while, there’ll be an array of pretty light filled colours shining bright soon after. Something to look forward to. To anticipate. Hope.

Hope is what I choose to see at the end of the rainbow. How about you?

This painting is created using palette knives on artist quality cotton canvas, is satin varnished and comes with a COA. It has a white wood grain timber frame but can be swapped for an oak if you prefer.

Thank you for viewing my artwork.

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
